On entering Creekbread you are greeted by a friendly hostess and an open kitchen. You have a choice of a seating from a mezzanine over looking the restaurant or an open area that has views of the open kitchen and open clay, wood burning oven.
The menu is simple with flatbreads designed with organic and free range ingredients cooked in the clay wood fire oven located in the dining room. Our choice tonight was the 'Mopsy's Kalua Pork' flatbread in 16". It was plenty big enough to share and topped with a delicious array of toppings such as pork, goats cheese, red onions, mozzarella, pineapple, on a mango bbq sauce base, thin sliced. The sweet mango base with pineapple was a nice contrast to the onion and goats cheese and the dough was very tasty. One of the best flatbread pizza's I have had in Whistler.
Creekbread pride themselves on fresh and organic, locally farmed ingredients.
Some of the literature on the wall illustrate the restaurants ethos to being open and rewarding to its employees. There are illustrations made by young visitors to the restaurant which are displayed around the restaurant and on the cover of the menus. You get a strong message that everything here is about open, honesty, and healthy eating.
We rounded the meal off with a warm brownie and caramel crunch ice cream, the brownie was nicely toasted in the wood oven and the ice cream was creamy and flavorful.
Service was a little strong for our liking with a few too many check backs but when you warm to the feel of the restaurant you adjust to the friendliness it naturally provides.
Overall Creekbread is a great addition to Whistler, and much needed restaurant to the Creekside area of Whistler, I definitely recommend a visit. I expect it would be a great spot for events, company meals and a spot of apre for the family after a day on the hill.

I visited Creekbread for the Free Pizza Apres promotion they had running. The restaurant was very busy, but we only waited 5 minutes for a table for 2, however we did have to share a table with 5 strangers.
The Free pizza apres worked, whereby the server bought a pizza tray over to the table, which contained approx a slice or two of pizza for each person. I expected the wait for pizza to be a lot longer than it actually was, and we got to try a couple of different variety of pizza.
Overall the food was great and I love the organic/local theme. And getting the pizza all for FREE was a great bonus.

Interesting pizza creations are topped with local and organic ingredients, the staff are attentive and knowledable and it's easily the best place in town for pizza. The salad choices are topped with the best bacon I've ever had, local cheeses and housemade raspberry vinaigrette made with fruits from Pemberton. Homemade brownies for dessert top off a consistant and delicious dining experience.
The location is a little out of the way but the building has been crying out for another restaurant for years, it's great to see what they've done inside with local artists and childrens drawings and prayer flags hanging around the beautiful wooden interior.
My pick: Pemberton Potato Pie pizza (add the bacon!)
