2010 Lunafliks Offering Includes Dinner & Moonlight Movies
A summertime dinner and a movie, Whistler-style, looks like this: a spirited parade of locals and visitors make their way from the Village and from shuttles with blankets in tow. At Lost Lake the sun sheds red and purple light over the water and mountains while the group shares a BBQ meal with friends and family by the beach. Music fills the air. Under twinkling stars, the audience laughs, marvels, and sits on the edge of their seats together to a smart selection of feisty films. After the film, candlelight and shuttle service guide their way back home.
This year’s selection will take viewers through Sweden, across the North Sea, to Buenos Aires and Paris on Wednesdays July 7 and 21, and August 4 and 18. A FREE shuttle, sponsored by local adventure companies, leaves the gondolas from 8:30 to 10:00PM, and returns after the film.

Whistler’s Chairlift Revue Reveals Trifecta of Daring Topics
Jesus, Vishnu, Buddha and a French Canadian walk onto a chairlift. They:
a) smoke weed
b) eat poutine
c) chat with an invisible Muhammed
Make that all of the above. Whistler’s fourth annual Chairlift Revue, a locally produced event, ended the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival on a “high” note.
MC’d by the Pique newspaper’s very own social commentary guru G.D. Maxwell, the Chairlift Revue covered the top 3 hot topics that are bound to offend: religion, sex, drugs. The plays ranged in theme from coming of age to “just because I slept with you doesn’t mean I’ll ski with you” to Olympic-withdrawal to an Olympic mascot who dunnit to dangerous encounters with metal and body parts.
The audience was a lot more local and family-oriented than you’d find at the rest of the rowdy evening events filled with industry people and younger ski/board types. But, I kind of like the authentic, genuine nature of the Chairlift Revue. It’s a community performance, supported by the Whistler Arts Council and written, directed and produced by Whistlerites who are passionate about arts and culture in this community. It’s events like this that are the true backbone of this town.
And I have to say, Ace MacKay-Smith (DJ Foxy Moron) was the best darn Jesus I’ve ever seen!
Panty Bloom Takes 72 Hr Filmmaker Showdown Title
Take 72 hours. Throw in a person who goes missing on his way to the Sushi Village bathroom and a historical spoof about how Whistler was founded by a war between "Intrawestonians" and Myrtle Philip's clan. Add a dash of love story and a pinch of red bra adventure. Throw in a fanny pack and beer drinking zombies. Layer in a Robjn Taylor film and an astronaut adventure. Bake for 4:20.
Whistler Premiere of Follow Me – A New Mountain Bike Film
On April 18th 2010 Anthill Films will present their much anticipated HD mountain bike film, Follow Me at Whistler’s TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival. Shot predominately in B.C, Follow Me, the newest production by local company Anthill Films, is a modern portrait of mountain bike lifestyle, which gets back to basics and reminds viewers why riding bikes is so much fun. The Whistler premiere will be the first chance for the crew to come out of hiding and share with their fans, friends and family what they have spent the last two years working on.
The TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival’s unique blend of music, arts and sport fits perfectly with Anthill’s vision for action sport filmmaking. Like the Festival, Follow Me will give the viewer a lot more than just breathtaking, progressive action. Set to an eclectic and modern soundtrack, the film breaks away from traditional formats and finds out what happens when the world’s top downhillers, freeriders and slopestylers are mixed and matched together in some the best places to ride on the planet. Follow Me is all about good times, pushing limits, crazy adventures and most importantly having fun.
